ALH.DR.ENGR.USMAN MAIJAMA'A KALLAMU,GARKUWAN DABAN-FULANI,

The Rector is the Head of the institution and the Chief accounting officer.

Engr. Dr. Usman Maijama’a Kallamu (MNSE) was born on the 16th of January, 1964 in Daban Fulani in kwami L.G.A of Gombe State. He started his primary education in his place of birth at Daban Fulani Primary School in 1971. Upon completion in 1978 he attended Government Secondary School, Nafada, from 1979 to 1982 and Government Science Secondary School, Gombe from 1982-1984 from where he obtained his O level certificate (GCE/WASC).

In 1985, he headed for the famous Kaduna Polytechnic where he obtained his ND in 1988. After his one year compulsory IT he went back to pursue his HND in the same institution in 1991 and Graduated with flying colours in 1993. Having practicalized his knowledge by working a while he felt the urge to continue his education but this time with some touch of middle belt University. He gained admission into the University of Agriculture, Makurdi where he obtained his Post Graduate Diploma in Engineering between 1996 and 1997.

Engr. Dr. Kallamu has flair for education. He was still not satisfied with what he had acquired and the thirst to improve upon previous learning propelled him to go for his Masters in Engineering at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi between 1999 and 2006. Having joined the services of the Polytechnic since 1995, he thought it important to acquire a qualification in Education as he is a man of order and does not believe in mediocrity. He obtained his Technical Teaching Certificate in 2005 from Federal College of Education Potiskum.

Dr. Kallamu pursues knowledge wherever he can find it.He obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Agriculture, Makurdi.

work experience Immediately after his ND in 1988, Engr. Engaged himself in Gombe Local Government, Works & Housing Department in 1989. He remained on their payroll until and after his HND. In 1995, he gained employment into the services of the Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu as a Senior Engineer/Assistant Director until 2000 when he clinched the status of Senior Lecturer.

This new status put him in a position to assist the Head of Department until he gained enough experience. From 2007 to 2010, he was the Head of Department, Mechanical Engineering.

From 2010 to 2013, he enjoyed the status of a Principal Lecturer and was elected the substantive Director, School of Engineering. The exigencies of his PhD programme took him for a while to the University of Agriculture, Makurdi.

Engr. Dr. Kallamu has served the Polytechnic in various capacities and in various committees. A few of them are mentioned here: member research and development committee (2000-2009); member exams & time table committee (2003-2010); member management committee (2010-2013); member 3rd Governing council, Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu representing academic staff (2009-2013); Departmental Examination Officer (2000-2007); member Academic Board (2007-2013).

Engr. Kallamu is a member of many professional bodies amongst which are Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE) no: 21909; Heating & Refrigeration Engineers; COREN no: r 20110; Renewable Energy Applications in Nigeria, etc. He has presented papers in several Seminars, Conferences and Workshops both at national and international levels in the field of Engineering and other related fields.

He was appointed as as Director Academic planning of the polytechnic, a position he held until the Minister of Education appointed him Acting Rector of the Institution in 2017.

FALALAR AZUMIN WATAN RAMADAN Falalar watan azumin Ramadan da irin rahman da ke cikinsa DAGA: Sani Abubakar Dikuwa Azumin Ramadan na da falala da yawa. A cikin wannan wata na Ramada ne aka fara saukar wa da fiyayyen hallita Annabi Muhammadu (S.A.W) da littafi mai tsarki. Saboda tsarkin wannan wata ne ake rufe duk wani shaidani da kofofin gidan wuta sannan a bude kokofin gidan Al-jannah. Daga cikin falalar azumin sun hada da:- 1. Azumin Ramadan na kankare zunubin mutum kamar yadda yazo a hadisin Khuzaifah (R.A.) Yau kuma in sha Allah za mu ga yadda ƙwaƙwalwar take a siffa, da kuma wasu daga cikin ayyukanta. Ƙwaƙwalwar mutum guda ɗaya ce amma tana da ɓangarori uku.
